Can I view my Hermanus CCTV cameras from my phone?
Yes. We set up remote viewing so you can watch live and recorded footage from your smartphone anywhere in the world, which is ideal for keeping an eye on a Hermanus holiday home while you're away. You'll get app access on your phone, tablet and computer as part of the install.
Do the cameras record at night?
Our CCTV cameras have infrared night vision that captures clear footage in low light and total darkness, so your property stays monitored around the clock. For driveways and entrances we can also fit cameras with colour night vision or spotlights for extra deterrence.
Can you monitor an empty holiday home in the Overberg?
Absolutely — remote-viewable CCTV with motion alerts is one of the best ways to protect a holiday home that stands empty for weeks. You (or a trusted neighbour) get notified when motion is detected, and we can pair the system with other security measures;
get in touch to plan coverage.
How many cameras do I need for my property?
It depends on your property size and the entry points and blind spots you want covered — a typical home is well served by four cameras covering the front, back and sides. We do a free site assessment across Hermanus and the Overberg to recommend camera placement and count for your specific layout.
Will coastal weather damage the cameras?
We install weatherproof, IP-rated cameras and, in high-exposure seafront spots, corrosion-resistant housings and marine-grade mounts to handle Walker Bay's salt air. Proper cable sealing and mounting are what make a CCTV system last near the coast, and that's built into every
installation we do.
Where is the footage stored?
Recordings are stored locally on a dedicated hard drive in the DVR/NVR recorder, sized to hold days or weeks of footage depending on your camera count and settings. Because it's stored on site there are no cloud fees, and older footage overwrites automatically so recording never stops.
