Can you do a same-day DStv installation in Hermanus?
In most cases yes — if we have a slot open we can get a new dish, decoder and point installed the same day across Hermanus, Onrus, Vermont and Sandbaai. WhatsApp us on
079 754 5527 or use our
contact page and we'll confirm the earliest time.
Do you set up DStv in Walker Bay holiday homes when the owner isn't there?
Absolutely — a lot of our new installs are for holiday and rental homes around Voëlklip, Eastcliff and Hermanus Heights where the owner lives elsewhere. We can coordinate access with your agent or caretaker and send photos and the details once the point is live and tested.
Which decoder should I choose for a new install at the coast?
For a full-house holiday home we usually recommend a Explora or a HD PVR decoder so guests can record and pause, while a single-view HD decoder suits a flat or granny cottage. We'll talk through your package and the number of TVs before we install so you're not paying for points you won't use.
How do you protect a new dish against Hermanus salt air?
Every new install gets marine-grade brackets, stainless fixings and properly sealed cable entries, because the salt-laden air off Walker Bay corrodes standard hardware fast. This coastal sealing is standard on all our
DStv installations, not an optional extra.
Can you add extra viewing points to a new installation?
Yes — we can cable and connect multiple TV points during the same visit, whether it's a lounge-plus-bedrooms setup in a family home or several units in a guesthouse. Running the extra points at install time is far tidier and cheaper than coming back later.
Where will you mount the dish on my property?
We pick a spot with a clear line of sight to the satellite while keeping the dish sheltered from the worst of the south-easter where possible, often a gable end or wall rather than an exposed roof edge. In estates like Hermanus Heights we also work within any HOA rules on placement and cabling.
