Hermanus: our home base
Our base. Same-day or next-day for most faults, and planned installations usually within a few days. We cover the CBD, Eastcliff, Westcliff, Voelklip, Fernkloof and everything between.
Our DStv service areas around Hermanus, one by one
Onrus and Vermont
Homes here sit close to the sea and take the wind and the salt. We use marine-grade mounts and seal every joint so the signal holds through winter.
Sandbaai
A mix of permanent homes and holiday houses. Most of our work here is new installs, repairs, multi-room setups and reconnections after a house has stood empty.
Hawston and Fisherhaven
New installs, signal repairs, Explora setups, OpenView and CCTV for homes and small businesses. Along the lagoon at Fisherhaven we also do a lot of seasonal reconnections.
Stanford
A short drive inland. Homes and guest farms get the same coastal-grade installs, repairs and dish alignment as town.
Kleinmond
Home installs, repairs and holiday-home reconnections, usually booked together with other work in the area.
What changes between our Hermanus service areas
Right on the water
Onrus, Sandbaai and anywhere directly exposed take the worst of the salt. We fit marine-grade hardware as standard here, and we expect to see corroded LNBs on older installations. If your dish is more than five or six years old and within sight of the sea, it is worth a look before it fails.
Slightly inland
Fernkloof and further back are easier on hardware but not immune. Wind is still the main cause of drift.
Further out
Kleinmond, Stanford, Hawston and Fisherhaven. We travel for these, usually grouped with other work in the area, so it is worth asking when we are next out that way.

What we see most in each part of the area
Exposed coastal properties
Corroded LNBs and rusted brackets, mostly on installations that were done with standard hardware. If a dish here is more than about five years old and has never been looked at, it is worth a check before it fails.
Holiday and second homes
Faults that developed while nobody was there. Usually a slow degradation that became a total loss over an empty winter. These are the calls that come in on the first day of a holiday, which is the worst possible timing.
Estates and complexes
Rules about visible dishes, and older communal systems that were never properly maintained. Both solvable, both worth planning rather than improvising.
Planning a job outside the immediate area
For the further towns we group work where we can, which keeps travel sensible for everyone. If you are in Stanford or Kleinmond and it is not urgent, ask when we are next out that way. If it is urgent, say so and we will work something out.
Before we arrive
A few things that make the visit faster and cheaper for you:
- Clear access to the roof or the wall where the dish will go
- Know which rooms you want working, and where the TVs will sit
- Have the decoder details handy if you already own one
- Secure any dogs, we say this every time and it matters
- If it is a complex, check whether you need permission for a dish first
After the job
You get the signal readings, an explanation of what was done, and a number that a real person answers. If something is not right a week later, call us and we will come back. That is easier for us than it sounds, because we are working across Hermanus and the Overberg most days anyway.

Which areas around Hermanus do you cover?
We cover Hermanus itself plus Onrus, Sandbaai, Vermont, Voelklip, Fernkloof, Kleinmond and the surrounding areas. If you are near that list but not on it, call and ask. We travel for larger jobs and we are often already nearby.
Do you charge extra for travel?
For work in Hermanus and the closer areas, travel is built into the quote. For properties further out we will tell you upfront if there is a callout, so it is never a surprise on the invoice.
How fast can you get to an emergency?
For no-signal faults close to base we aim for same-day or next-day. Call early and we will give you an honest answer about when we can be there rather than an optimistic one.
Do you do all your services in every area?
Yes. Installation, repairs, Extra View, OpenView, CCTV, WiFi and aerials are all available everywhere we cover. Larger communal and commercial jobs are scheduled rather than same-day.
